You can purchase or obtain software that supports OCR -- there are not any HP updates or recent HP driver options for adding OCR to this printer.
What?
The embedded OCR feature was removed from the latest printer software driver in mid 2022.
We were not provided a "why" -- personally, I suspect it was either a compatibility or license issue that prompted the change.
If you have an older version of the software installation package that you downloaded and saved before that time (about June 2022), the embedded OCR will still be in that older version of the installed software.
