First issue - I'm on my MacOS 14.5 Sonoma which isn't an available option in the drop down menu for this issue report
Main issue - I've scanned a few documents that uploaded to the HP Smart app on my Mac, and can edit the document to crop the image, but can't rotate the image and the auto-rotate button does nothing to the document. The rotation degree bar is at the bottom of the image when in the edit mode, but it's grayed out.
I found a similar issue posted by another user here https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-Copying/Can-t-rotate-scan-by-degrees-in-HP-Smart/m-p/8...
But the reply provided no resolution. I know how to scan documents and use edit features, so do not need a tutorial on how to scan a document..
Please help

Hi @BoTie23,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering a frustrating issue with your HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer's scanning functionality on your MacOS 14.5 system. The inability to rotate scanned documents within the HP Smart app can indeed be inconvenient. Here are some troubleshooting steps you could try.
- Update HP Smart App: Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your Mac. Sometimes, updating the app can resolve compatibility issues and introduce new features or bug fixes.
- Printer Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP ENVY Pro 6455 printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes address software-related issues.
- Alternative Scanning Methods: If the HP Smart app continues to present problems, consider using alternative scanning methods. MacOS has built-in scanning functionality through the Preview app. You can try scanning directly from Preview and then use its editing tools to rotate the scanned documents.
Regarding the issue with the MacOS version not being available in the drop-down menu for issue reporting, it's possible that the HP Smart app hasn't been updated to recognize newer MacOS versions.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps resolve the rotation issue with your scanned documents.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
