Keep getting communication error on fax

I have a LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw and I can't get it to reliably recieve or send fax. I keep getting communication error 37. I can't find any documentation on this error code.

I have turned off error correction mode

I set the speed to slow

I ensured the phone number is in the header

I double checked that no other devices share the phone line

I'm at a loss. There is no documentation on this error anywhere.

Additionally, when the fax fails, it says it is scheduling a new fax, but was started April 23, 2024. Not July 2nd, like it is today. The date and time on the printer are correct on the web and on the control panel. I have no clue where april 23rd is coming from, when I send it today.

I also get the error code 113 when receiving. No idea what this is, as the HP site shows no info on that error code. Very frustrating.
