In upgrading my PC from Windows 7 to windows 10 I lost the user utility that operated my HP G4050 scanner. If I got a CD with my purchase, I don't seem to have it now. I was able to download and install the driver from the HP web page but it didn't seem to provide the desktop control utility to control scanning (eg: selecting scan resolution, output file type, cropping, etc.). How can I get a copy of that utility to make my scanner useful again? Thanks!!!

Hi Banlix,
Neither of the links you provided resulted in the graphical user interface (GUI) that controls my HP G4050 scanner. They seem to be 1) a troubleshooting utility and 2) the device driver for the G4050. What I am missing is the GUI that lets me create multi-page PDFs, crop photographs and slides, etc. The GUI came with my HP scanner but got deleted in a Windows update. I can't find the original CD that came with the scanner but it is useless without the ability to program it. I hope you can help.

Thank you so much! I did have to use Vista compatibility mode and download as an administrator but then it was smooth sailing. The GUI is a newer version than the one that came with my G4050 but it supports all of the capabilities I use. Great to be able to use my HP scanner again. Thank you!
