I was told by salesman that this all-in-one laser printer could scan both sides (duplex) from automatic document feeder (ADF). I do not see how to accomplish this with either printer control panel or from scanning app. HP's user guide has only the basics in its scanning section, and does not mention how either.
I see how to scan both sides manually, but it would save quite a bit of time if this could (and should!) be done from the ADF.

Sorry, Duplex automatically scanning is not possible. However, you can do duplex scanning manually as you are doing it.

Hi,
Sorry it can do automatic duples scanning and copying. Please read the following review:
"Unfortunately, even though the M277dw can handle duplex, or double-sided, printing, the automatic document feeder only allows for one-sided scanning and copying. With copying, the automatic document feeder can make single-sided to single-sided copies or single-sided to double-sided copies. You can’t do double-sided to double-sided or double-sided to single-sided copies with the M277dw, which is an unfortunate limitation given that this printer is marketed to business users."

If you scan the front side from the first page to the last, and then flip it around to scan the back side from the last page to the first (as opposed to flipping each individual page), you can use one of the following tools to collate them correctly. The first set of directions describes the command that you would type in the Windows command prompt or the MacOS terminal, but both of the links have a GUI tool that has all the same functionality of the command line tool.
