I have a MFP M528dn which is a brilliant printer.
I was using it connected via USB for about 6 months and found that there was often a long delay between sending a print job to the printer and the job actually printing. Scanning worked perfectly via USB.
So I changed the connection to wired ethernet. This fixed the delay on printing, but the scanning software (HP or Windows Fax/Scan) stopped detecting the scanner.
I have spent several hours with HP support on the phone trying to fix it. They say my firewall (not using one) or my antivirus (Kaspersky) is stopping the scanner being detected.
Has anyone had a similar issue and actually knows how to fix it?
Even if I turn off Kaspersky, the scanner is detected but scans always fail.

Configure the scan to folder function on the MFP and it will scan fine with no need to launch any desktop software. Just walkup, place your document and press one button.
