Hello all.
I need help.
My MFP512dn do not scan correctly using the charger. I explain : When I scan a page with the automatic feeder it does not scan the page all at once but scans the page in stages. As a result, a scanned page gives me a PDF file of several pages.
Could you tell me what it is?
Thank you for your help and advice...
See you soon...

Hi @ArnaudF67,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP MFP M512dn might be having issues with the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or the scanning software settings. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the problem.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:
- Open the ADF and look for any paper jams or obstructions that could be causing the scanner to misfeed pages.
Clean the ADF Rollers:
- Dust or debris on the ADF rollers can cause feeding issues. Gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or rubbing alcohol.
Update Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware and scanner drivers are up to date. Check the HP website for the latest updates for your MFP M512dn.
Adjust Scan Settings:
- Open the scanning software and check the settings for the Automatic Document Feeder. Ensure the settings are configured for a single scan job and not for multiple pages.
Check Scanner Settings on Printer:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the scan settings and make sure it’s set to scan a single job rather than multiple pages.
Reset the Printer:
- Try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve software glitches.
Test with Different Paper:
- Sometimes, paper quality can affect scanning. Try using different paper types or sizes to see if the issue persists.
Perform a Test Scan:
- Try scanning a single page without using the ADF to see if the issue is specific to the ADF or if it's a general scanning problem.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the ADF.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
