Our HP MFP 577f connected via Wired Network was working perfectly fine for Printing and Scan over network. However the Scan (over wired network) has stopped working 'probably' after firmware or windows 10 update.
Getting error: The scanner failed to complete the scan. Verify that the scan feature is enabled in the device. For more information, contact your administrator or the person who set up the device. If scanning is enabled, a problem might have occurred while applying your scan settings. Check the settings and try again. If the problem persists, contact support.
Steps already tried:
1) verified that both WebScan and Secure Webscan Enabled under Network / other settings via Web Browser login
2) Uninstalled Printer Driver / HP Scan software and did a clean install. Scan Software or Twain driver both detect the device but Upon trying to scan over network, above error persists. (Same issue from different PCs over network hence is not a driver issue)
3) Went back to old firmware.
4) In HP Print and Scan Doctor, Fix Scanner issues is greyed out
5) Under Windows Services and Restarted WIA
6) Did a Cold Reset
7) Scan to USB works fine. So not a scanner issue. Printer prints fine over network. Hence not a connection issue.
None of the above methods worked and cannot scan over wired network. Would appreciate help on anything I am missing. Thanks.
