I did this. It did a driver check said there was an error - unplugged printer and restarted laptop as it told me to but it still said unable to resolve issue then it redirected me to hp customer care. This only said to do what I have already done i.e unstall the driver etc and reinstall. I am getting very frustrated at this.

Hey @diragdoll,
Thanks so much for getting back to me.
There was multiple steps that we hadn't run already in this document. When you ran the Disk Cleanup, powercycled your connection, configured the firewall, and turned off the background programs (Solution six for Network, and Solution five for USB) did you get any error messages?
If you ran through all steps provided to no avail, I would recommend that you reach out to our Technical Support queue by phone to explore additional options. With your permission the agent may be able to gain access to your computer through a remote session and troubleshoot with you.
HP Technical Support can be reached at: 800-474-6836.
If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.
It has been a pleasure working with you. I wish you luck going forward with this! 🙂
