Hello @Abi6, Thanks for your reply.
We can assign a static IP address and a manual DNS address to fix this problem. Please follow the below steps and check:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Save the settings & do a restart on your modem, PC & printer. Your scan to email functionality on your printer should work now.
Alternatively, you can also go through this HP forum link for the same issue: http://hp.care/2bT8mpN
Please try these steps and let me know how it goes 🙂

Hello @Abi6, Greetings!
Thank you for joining HP forums and I would be glad to assist you with the scan to email issue on your Envy 5530 printer.
To use the scan to email feature, make sure you have installed the full feature printer driver on your PC. You can download the printer software from http://hp.care/2bE9m0a
Once the printer software is installed, you must then set up an email profile. You can set up your email profile from the printer control panel. Please visit http://hp.care/2bE9aOG and follow the steps under “Scan directly to e-mail” section to set up the scan to email feature.
Please try these steps and let me know if it works.
Cheers!
