Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer

I have an Envy 5540 All in One printer on my pc that has a windows 10 operating system. My Scan and Capture software stopped working after my last windows update. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it from the CD. I didn't get the scan program that I had and now need to go through my printer program to be able to scan. I tried downloading the latest software for the printer but still don't have the original scan program.

If you installed the full feature pack for Envy 5540 from here, you may have received "HP Scan" or something like that.  if you previously used HP Smart to scan you may need to re-installed it from the Microsoft Store.

I like 'HP Scan" as it goes directly to the scan function unlike HP Smart but Smart does more stuff.
