It sounds like your HP Pavilion Desktop isn't recognizing the printer for scanning. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to get it working.

 

Steps to Fix "No Computer Found" When Scanning:

Ensure HP Smart is Installed

  • Windows 11 no longer supports HP Scan and Capture, so you need HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.
  • Open HP Smart and check if your printer is listed.

Enable "Scan to Computer" in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart, go to Printer Settings, and look for Scan to Computer.
  • Enable it and restart both your printer and computer.

Check Printer Connection

  • If using USB, try a different port.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure both devices are on the same network.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP’s support site.
  • Run the tool to diagnose and fix scanning issues.

Update Printer Drivers

Restart Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • Find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA), right-click, and select Restart.
