Hi @Mya251,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To locate your fax number, follow these steps depending on your setup:
1. Check Printer’s Fax Settings
Via Printer Control Panel:
- Access Fax Settings:
- On your printer’s control panel, navigate to the Fax or Setup menu.
- Find Fax Number:
- Look for options such as Fax Settings, Send Fax, or Fax Setup. There should be an option like Fax Header, Fax Number, or Send Fax Information where your fax number might be listed.
Via Printer Web Interface:
Open Web Interface:
- Enter your printer’s IP address into a web browser to access its web-based management interface.
Login (if required):
- You may need to log in. Default credentials are usually found in the printer’s manual or can be left blank.
Navigate to Fax Settings:
- Look for a section like Fax Setup or Fax Configuration. Your fax number should be listed here if it’s been set up.
2. Check Fax Documentation
User Manual:
- Refer to the printer’s user manual or setup guide. It may contain information on where to find or configure your fax number.
Fax Setup Documentation:
- If you have any setup documentation from when the fax machine was installed, your fax number might be recorded there.
3. Contact Your Phone Service Provider
Service Provider Records:
- Contact your phone or fax service provider. They can often provide information on the assigned fax number if you’re unsure.
Service Agreement:
- Review any service agreements or documentation provided by the phone company, which may include the fax number.
4. Check Fax Machine Configuration
Print Configuration Page:
- Some fax machines allow you to print a configuration page or status report that includes the fax number. Look for an option to print this report from the machine’s control panel.
Check Phone Line Connection:
- Ensure the fax machine is connected correctly and check for any labels or stickers on the device that might list the fax number.
5. Verify Fax Settings via Software
Fax Software (on Computer):
- If you have fax software installed on your computer that is used with the printer, check the software settings for the fax number.
HP Smart App (if applicable):
- If using the HP Smart app, open the app and go to the fax settings or configuration section.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
