Hello, I have HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP Printer. I installed that printer via Ethernet cable [its network printer]. I install the HP Software in the desktop as well.
I went to Printer Dashboard page which is http://192.168.1.205 [my local lan]. In Dashboard there are Status, System, Print, Fax, Networking, E-mail Tabs. Under E-mail Configration I have below setting
SMTP Gateway Settings
SMTP Gateway : smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port : 465
Yes smtp.gmail.com required User name and password but this dashboard does not have any place at where I can enter my gmail account user id and password.
I Desktop machine and printer both are in same IP pool. On printer I always get message "cannot connect SMTP server"
I need this feature very badly. I never tried HP Forum for solution but I m hoping someone can help me.
Attach is the screenshot of the dashboard. [One picture is for Email Configration, other picture is Network]

It might be as simple as shutting off the "Two Step Verification" in your gmail.
Log into your gmail account > Sign-in & Security > Signing into Google > set to "Off" 2-step verification
Connected Apps and Sites > Access for less secure apps = ON
If you don't want to reduce the security on this email account, create another gmail account and shut off the verification on that account. You can set the mail in the second account to forward to the main account so you don't have to open each mail account separately.

Hello Dragon-Fur,
Thanks for your reply. This setting did not help me. I don't know why My HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP Embedded Web Server does not show some of the features that most of the HP Embedded Web server shows.
I need this solution very badly. Please please help me out.
Thanks

I can offer the following based on a bit of research. I do not have this printer nor anything similar on which I can compare the setup.
The setup information you need is likely that which is in the User Guide (as mentioned below).
Printer Software
Utilities and the various programs and functions are dependent on having the Full Solution Software installed for the current Operating System.
Instructions, Readme, and Download:
HP Color LaserJet CM2320 MFP Series Full Solution Software
Scan-to-Email setup
Where available, there are options set up scan-to-email
Printer Software
Printer Assistant shortcut on the Desktop named for your printer >
tab Print, Scan & Fax > in Scan section: Scan to Email Wizard
User Guide
As directed in the User Guide (reminder: email setup is available on fax model only), Chapter 11, Page 102
Embedded Web Server (EWS)
The utilities supported by EWS are explained in User Guide, Chapter 14, Page 180
For this printer: There is no mention of EWS supporting the "Scan-to-email" wizard or setup.
TooboxFX (mentioned in the User Guide, Chapter 14, Page 170 > Page 179 (Email)
Mail Setup Considerations
Scan-to-Email is usually dependent on the computer having an installed mail program, that is, a mail program or mail client program on the computer that can be used as an interface with your email address.
For example:
- Windows Mail (on Windows 10) is an installed mail program
- Outlook 2016 is an installed mail program
- Thunderbird is an installed mail client that can be set as a POP mail server
- Accessing your gmail account through your browser is not an installed mail program
The installed mail program must be set up using the appropriate SMTP / POP server information.
Printer Connection
The Scan functions and other utilities may work better when the printer is connected to the network via Ethernet and Static IP address / DNS server.

Dragon Fur,
I installed full HP Color LaserJet CM2320 MFP Series Full Solution Software. My printer is install over LAN. The EWS suppose to have smtp authentication like User ID and Password. IS any way I can update the EWS? I don't think we can update EWS but still I m thinking?
IF The SMTP authentication avaiable then my problem will be resolve but the dam EWS page does not have much in email comfirgration setting.

No, EWS cannot be updated.
The firmware update, although listed in the Windows 10 software drivers, says it (the firmware) is for older versions of Windows AND there is no mention of the fixes in the firmware affecting the EWS utilities.
The methods described in the User Guide are the sum of what I found on the subject.
Check the printer front panel and look for the Toolbox software on your computer.
Perhaps another Expert that is familiar with this product can assist.

The HP Color LaserJet CM2320 MFP Series Full Solution Software I installed it does not have HP Toolbox FX. Can you able to guide me where I can download Toolbox for CM2320nf MFP printer? I search on hp site but did not find anything.
Also to use scan to email feature it does not require connect to desktop machine right? As my CM2320 is connected via ethernet cable only.
Thank you
rish

Rish, I cannot discern from the documents available how / where the Embedded Web Server sets up email details. Nothing really indicates the setup is available as you wish it.
There is a hint in Learn and Use >
How to Access and Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Within the Alerts category, email can be set up for the purpose of sending email for particular purposes related to supplies. There are not any details on the setup parameters. The information might be useless in context (of no use to you in your situation).
From Learn and Use >
HP Color LaserJet CM2320 MFP Series Product - Embedded Web server
The EWS allows you to view product and network status and manage printing functions from a computer. With the EWS, you can complete the following tasks:
View product status information
Determine the remaining life on all supplies and order new ones
View and change part of the product configuration
View and print some internal pages
Select the language in which to display the EWS pages and control panel messages
View and change network configuration
Set, change, or clear the product security password (see Turn on password protection from the control panel).
Enable/disable the photo card slot on the product from the print tab
Set fax receive and phone book settings.
Set default copy and print settings.
Changing network settings in the EWS might disable some of product software or features.
I suspect that because the software is almost as old as the printer that the setups one might hope to find in a newer printer and software are just not there --or if they are there, they are hidden, buried, or configured outside of the printer software.
If you have set up a Mail program and / or a Mail Client program on your computer, then you might be able to use the Scan to Email regardless of whether you can set up the email parameters within the elusive EWS serivce.
Try the following:
- Set up / Configure your email program with the desired email address -- test the setup to ensure it works. (A few examples are provided in the Dragon document below.)
- Download and Install at least one of the following programs
and / or
No guarantees - the programs are written for newer (and perhaps different) printer hardware; the software may -- or may not -- work on your printer.

And others…
I don't have any other ideas.
