OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer is connected wirelessly to multiple computers in my house.  My computer is the only one having an issue.

I can print without problems, but I can not scan.

When I attempt to scan something (either using the link on the computer or directly from the printer using scan to computer), I get the following error message:

Scanner communication cannot be established.  Please verify your device is powered on, that you are connected to the network and your network is functioning properly, and that the scan feature is enabled.

My device is powered on, I am connected to the network, my network is functioning properly, and the scan feature is enabled.

I'm able to print, just not scan.

I ran the HP Print/Scan doctor.  It claims it found my problem and solved it for me.  It didn't.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

Hi,

My loan printer is a sister of yours. Two week ago I had EXACTLY same problem: I could not scan from one computer, no problem with all other devices in my house. I mentioned this on our Inner Circle an head to the US with option: will have a closer look at it when back home.

Today, after reading your post, I click the printer icon on desktop and guess what: I can scan, magically. No idea why, the ONLY action I did: turning off the printer when left home and turning on the printer yesterday.

Please try this: turn off the printer for 10mins or so and then turn it on.

Regards.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I turned the computer and printer off overnight but sadly, this didn't fix the problem.

Thanks for your efforts though!
