My M283cdw keeps having a Power Fail on the second page of sending a fax. The firmware and drivers are current. I'm manually sending the fax from the printer so a computer is not involved. I do have a Windows 11 PC, an Apple Mac, iPhones and an iPad. None of the devices having any printing problems. On the printer I've done the "Run Fax Test" (Setup -> Self Diagnostics) and the printer passes the fax tests. The telephone cable from the printer is directly connected to the phone line in the wall. The printer is on a surge protector and nothing else plugged into the surge protector has a power failure during the fax.
My most recent attempt to send a fax had four pages. When I send the fax the printer connects to the fax number and sends page 1 but after sending page 2 the printer auto restarts, starts sending the fax again, and keeps auto restarting. It does this cycle about 10 times before stopping on its own or until I cancel sending the fax. When I look at the Fax Activity Log in HP Smart it shows the Result of each attempt at sending the fax is a Power Fail.
I looked at this post but it didn't solve my problem. Error Correction was already On. I changed the resolution from Fine to Standard. I changed the Fax Speed from Medium to Slow. I also tried a Fast Fax Speed. The error kept occurring.
I also looked at this second post but it didn't have a solution.
Any help appreciated. How can sending a fax cause the printer to restart?
Thanks.
