Phone tech support is not helpful at this point.
I'm on my THIRD printer in three months: Bought 1 new from Amazon which had hardware problems; had it replaced (with a refurbished one) which had the firmware locked; had it replaced with a new one which still continues to have problems.
All drivers and firmware are updated.
I'm working on Windows 10. Printer is connected via USB and plugged into the wall.
(1) At the end of every print job, it says it's out of paper. I have to push the button on the top of the printer between every print job.
(2) I can't get the default off "duplo" printing. I'd like the default set at one-sided printing.
(3) On one project I'm doing, I'm single-sided printing and then using that same sheet of paper to print on the other side. (Has to do with how the file data is set up). I need to print 20 copies of each manually-double-sided page, but after 2-3 pages, I get this error message: PCL XL error. Subsystem: IMAGE Error: ExtraData Operate:ReadImage Position: 252 or 263 or 535. (Note I can print this job fine on my other printer).
I tried using the phone tech support, but they won't help me because I'm unable to give them access to my computer (I have very sensitive data which I cannot allow others' access to). Had a very, VERY bad experience with the techs on the phone.
Can anyone here help me, please?
Thank you so much.

What driver are you using. need to know the exact driver. On your computer, go to control panel>devices and printers an the n right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Click on the advanced tab and it will give you the driver you are using. Post that information here or screen shot and post.

Driver 4.1.4.3082 (most recent driver on the HP website)
I'm still getting the PCL XL error messages.
I appreciate the suggestion of making sure the driver was updated, but that doesn't seem to solve the problems. I still can't change the default from duplo to one-sided print and I'm getting those error messages.

I suggest you try the universal print driver, Post Script version

Postscript driver didn't help. I'm now even working on Windows 11. This time it simply printed two pages and stopped printing with Error Message.
Print job was 5 pages of single sided color.
Very frustrating as I'm trying to print a 2025 calendar (double-sided pages) which was supposed to go out to our people on January 1st and today is January 26th.

Have you considered that the file you are trying to print is corrupt or contains invalid print data? have you tried printing other documents to narrow down between a software issue and the printer. If you can print other documents then it is likely that you are dealing with invalid command embedded in the document. What program are you printing from? What format is the file you are printing?
