My printer has become very slow when copying. Then makes worrying clicking noises when finished. It prints from the PC no problem. I've reset the printer as suggested in replies to other posts (by taking out power cable and waiting 60 secs and restarting), I've checked paper source etc but it persists.
Any ideas?

@Grange4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Check the scanner bar functionality
Perform a visual test of the scanner mechanism to see if it is jammed.
- Remove any original documents or photos from the scanner glass.
- Lift the scanner lid slightly, and then press the Copy button or icon.
If the scanner light does not move or moves halfway or is not lit, the scanner mechanism is likely jammed/broken.
If the issue persists, reset the printer to its factory settings that may help.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I think the problem has been resolved, thank you. I had to restore the factory settings as directed in your private message as the firmware was already up to date. The copying function was immediately restored to full speed whereas the printing seemed to be delayed! However, turning the printer on and off again seems to have helped so I'm hoping it's all sorted.
