Hi @RMT54,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 (N911a) printer is no longer allowing you to resize copies (only showing 100% with no option to reduce or enlarge). This is likely due to a firmware glitchcopy settings lock, or a temporary software issue.

Steps to Restore Resize Functionality

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the wall for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try copying again and check if the resize options return.

2. Reset Copy Settings

  • On the printer’s control panel:
    • Tap Copy > Settings > Resize.
    • If only 100% is available, tap Restore Defaults under Copy Settings.
    • Then, recheck the Resize menu.

3. Update Firmware

4. Use Software-Based Scaling (as a workaround)

If the issue persists, you can scale documents from your computer:

  • In Windows apps (like Word or PDF viewers), go to Print > Printer Properties.
  • Under the Effects or Advanced tab, look for Resize or Scale to Fit options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
