My printer goes through scanning cycles constantly & randomly on its own ! 

I even got HP to replace the printer and it still dies the sane thing!

 

anyone have any ideas ?

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that your printer is constantly scanning, I am glad to assist you.

 

You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.  

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Sadly, I have not only tried that -- but after literally hours and hours on the phone with Tech Support and Senior Advisors I got HP to replace the printer.  

 

And again, the new one does the same thing!  It is just bizarre.  I don't understand it at all.   I don't have any particularly system components or software running.  My Wifi is using FIOS Fiber and Orbi Routers/Antennas.

 

But thank you so very much for reaching out.  I see you are with HP....

 

If you have any other thoughts I am all ears.  It does, interestingly seem to occur far more frequently during evening hours.
