On the Printer Web Service Page, I am having difficulties setting up the "Scan to Network Folder" option.

I have follow the guide instructions, check out chats, youtube videos.  I have entered all the information required to the best of my knowledge but when running test, I always get  "The test was unsuccessful.  Try again".

It is really frustrating as I have spent all sunday working on it...

I have made my folder  "share" on my iMac.

I am afraid I might not be entering the right info on the fields required:

"Display Name:"  SCAN Folder (folder I have created in iMac to share -  is this correct?)

"Network Path:"    \\10.0.0.215\\Users\Bobby\Documents\SCAN Folder  (is this correct?}
"Username:"  HP User name

"Password:"  HP Password

Could somebody help me validating the info above.../or give the right information to enter (correct sequence).

Thank you!

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Let's try re-configuring Scan to Network settings:

1.) Please make sure that a Folder is created on the server (your iMac).

2.) Make sure the folder has been shared and that users can both read and write to the folder. If you are unsure, right click on the Folder and select Get info. Then make sure that both read and write permissions are enabled.

3.) Make sure you have enabled SMB sharing. If you are unsure, you may use the steps available here to enable SMB sharing.

4.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications.

5.) Open Hewlett-Packard folder, Open HP Utility.

6.) Either click Additional Settings, and then click Open Embedded Web Server, or click Scan to E-mail. The EWS opens. Click the Scan tab. On the left navigation pane, click the Network Folder Setup link.

7.) During the Scan to Network folder setup, the network share folder should be specified in this format:

\\machinename.domain\scantonetworkfoldername\

8.) User name should be specific in this format:

Domain\username
