I have an HP Envy 5540 and have HP Smart app on my Lenovo ThinkPad. I want to save directly to My Documents on my PC and not to OneDrive since I have shut that off. Every scan saves directly to One Drive and does not allow me to change that. I prefer my own organization where I can find things and not to the OneDrive could where only more recent documents are shown and I have to search for my documents. I want to save everything to my computer which is backed up by Carbonite.

You could try using the HP universal scan driver. This installs an app called HP scan. It is primarily designed for HP enterprise products but I have found good compatibility with other HP products as well.
This link shows but confirm OS before downloading: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-managed-mfp-e87640-e87660-series/...
If that works, please post back, so I know if that is a valid suggestion for other users.
Thanks,

Thank you but that solution is part of the problem. I downloaded the HP Smart App but when I use it to scan and then go to save the scan, it automatically populates the area with OneDrive and does not allow me to change that. It is grayed out.
Thank you for any other advice you can give me.
