I have followed the instructions for earlier O/S. There is no plus sign on the screen to scan the next page.
Have changed image to one without personal content. Still can't find a way to make it work.

Windows scan is different from the Full Feature Software supplied for your printer.
Windows Scan does not specifically say it supports multiple scans to the same file -- the help and FAQ files are not forthcoming in detail on the subject. Perhaps one needs to use the ADF (document feeder) to access features not already apparent. ??
Printer:
HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer
Full Feature Software:
File name: EN4520_72.exe
Release details
Released: May 8, 2015
Version 36.0
If you have not already done so, I suggest you install the Full Feature Software for your printer.
Once the software is installed:
Printer Assistant (shortcut icon on the Desktop)
Open Scan a Document or Photo (wording varies)
Select Document to File / Save as PDF
Please see...

The image you posted is not yete visible -- it takes awhile for images from new members to be approved.
If you did not do so earlier, please remember to click (enable) View Scan Preview (wording varies).

Thanks - have installed all the software I can find. There isn'n an ADF. I want to scan a series of docs, or 2 sides on one into a single .pdf file. It may not be possible, but previous replies suggest it is.

You are welcome.
There are several options available to scan.
Which program / application is best depends on your situation.
What is "wrong" one time, might be perfect next time. Smiling.
