Hi,

Firstly it will scan the glass area and you can't tuen the glass. As mentioned above, you can rotate output later if you wish. Seconly it supports

 Scanner type

  • Flatbed

Scan file format

  • pdf, bmp, jpg, gif, tif, tif, png

Scan resolution, optical

  • 1200 dpi

Bit depth

  • 24-bit

Scan size, maximum

  • 216 x 297 mm  (or 8.5" x 11")

Scan size (ADF), maximum

  • 216 x 356 mm  (or 8.5" x 14")

Your original is 12" x 6", you need to scan from the ADF and it will come out as 6" x 12", you have to rotate the output. There is no room for 11" x 14".

Regards.

Hi,

Please try to put the originals on the glass with a right direction first. What is the output ? pdf file or jpg image ? You can always rotate them.

Regards.

My original is 12" X 6"

i aligned it properly, but apparently on the 7640 the scanning area is 8 1/2" X 11";

this fact is the reason for my query...How to scan in 'Landscape' mode which is 11" X 14"

is there a "Settings" menu on the 7640 that I am unaware of that would enable me to change the scan

area from 'portrait' to'landscape'?

Or, do I have to physically "trim" my original to fit the 11" length of the copy/scan area?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
