Scan issue

After I have scanned an item to computer, when I come to save it as-I give it a name then want to alter the format to jpeg from the default BMP. It shows that I have altered it but when I want to upload it is still in BMP formay and the file is too big. Never had this problem previously any suggestions???

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

You can't simply alter a format format to jpeg from the default BMP,  Scan the file in JPEG format if that's what you need.

Try this standalone scan software:

HP Scan Extended

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
