HP LaserJet Pro MFP 225dn
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have a problem where my printer is connected to a different subnet from computers that are using it. Printing works fine across subnets, but scanning does not.

It is the same issue as detailed here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/HP-Printer-Scanner-with-two-subnets/td-...

The solution to that was to scan via EWS. The problem I'm having is EWS for my printer does not have the "Scan" tab on top. See attached screenshot. I have checked the printer firmware timecode (20190401) and it appears to be up to date.

Hi,

Webscan is not a feature available for Laserjet printers, only for Inkjet printers.

You would need to make sure that both the Mac and the printer are connected to the same subnet for scanning to work, else I suggest connecting a USB cable for scanning.
