Scan to Email (GMAIL) not working

I am trying to set up "scan to email" with my gmail account, here are some details.

Google Info.
1. I use 2-STEP Verification
2. I have used "App Password" to allow printer to access account
3. It's a standard gmail account (not G-suite)

Printer Errors:
1. "Login credentials are incorrect"
2. SSL / Certificate issue.

Attempted solutions:
1. Checked passwords, login credentials.
2. Attempted different ports (465, 25, 587?)
3. Tried with and without Secure Connection required.
4. Have tried by accessing printer settings with HPSmart app and IP address in browser.
5. I have spoken with Google support who cannot resolve the issue.
6. Updated Printer Firmware

After trying the setting again, It eventually worked (no change to my original settings)

SMTP.GMAIL.COM

Port : 465
Secure Login (No certificate validation)

And used the App Password from google.

strange, but it now works and I have no idea why.
