Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Hi, 

 

I have just bought the colour laser jet 179fnw, it is connected to my wifi and is also connected to my main computer (iMac 2017) via USB. Wireless printing works fine and when I scan from the HP smart app, this also works too. However, when I insert a sheet into the scanner bed and select scan to WSD, i am greeted with a sound and a notification that states "not available". I cannot see why i can scan from the computer but am unable to send the message drirectly from the printer to the computer?

WSD is a Windows feature not a MAC feature and to the best of my knowledge this will not work.  This troubleshooting information from Epson supports that statement: https://download4.epson.biz/sec_pubs/l6580_series/useg/en/GUID-2B9BCD74-502F-4A62-9D50-E6A22AE403DF....
