Scan to folder is no longer working.  The product needs a firmware update.

My daughter and I have the same printer/fax/scanner.  For years, we have both scanned to samba smb shared folder on our home networks.  The server runs Ubuntu.  Since I updated my pc to Ubuntu 20.04, the scan to folder has stopped working.  My router can share a folder on a USB that does not work either.

I believe the HP is compatible with SMB1 but the the world has moved on.  With cyber security concerns in home networks, SMB1 is being blocked by servers.  I have Goodreader app  v 5.7.1128 on my iPad.  It has stopped working too.  At least it was possible to contact goodreader easily.  They know about the problem and are working on a solution.  It has not been possible to contact HP -- one is faced with a cost saving customer service bot.  No engagement.

Consumers need a firmware update.

Hi,

The printer only supports the SMBv1 protocol:

As you said that the world has moved on, indeed there are many newer HP printers to support SMBv2 and SMBv3, but older models are more limited and not being updated for life.
