Thank you, ClockerXP! I can confirm your that solution works (posted 05-12-2014 02:18 PM).

 

I had this issue for a long time. The scan-to-folder function on my 8500 worked fine on my Win7 computers, but not on my win-8.1 computers. It only created 0-byte files on my win8.1 computers.

 

Today I updated my the firmware on my OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g, using a download from the link you posted.

 

Now the scan-to-folder function works great with my Win7 computers and with my win8.1 computers. Thanks!

Thank you. I just upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and this solution fixed my scanning problem.
