Hi @Peganuts ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4675 is encountering a hardware scanner issue, especially since the HP Print and Scan Doctor hasn't resolved it.
Here are some steps you can try to fix the error:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. Check if the scanner error persists.
2. Reset the Printer
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the outlet and reconnect the cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on and see if the error is resolved.
3. Update the Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Outdated firmware could cause scanner-related errors.
- Visit HP’s driver and software page for your printer model, download any available firmware updates, and install them.
4. Check for Physical Issues
- Open the scanner lid and inspect the scanner glass for any debris or obstructions that might be triggering the error.
- Clean the glass gently with a lint-free cloth and some glass cleaner.
- Check for any mechanical obstruction or damage to the scanner mechanism (like the scanner light not moving correctly).
5. Factory Reset the Printer
- Sometimes resetting the printer to factory settings can fix internal errors.
- Navigate to the printer's settings menu, find the "Restore Defaults" option, and follow the prompts to reset it.
- After resetting, try scanning again.
6. Service the Printer
- If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a hardware malfunction in the scanner itself, such as a failed scanner bulb or sensor.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
