Hello,
When using HP Smart on my Windows PC, i can print on my LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw without problem. (The printer is set up as a network printer). When I want to scan to the computer, the printer stalls with the message "Scanning to computer" and on the computer I get the message "Scanner not found".
HP Scan and Print Doctor did not provide help, drivers and software are up to date, power cable was unplugged and plugged back in without improvement.
Any suggestions what I can do? Thank you.
PS: When I scan via HP Smart on my iPhone, i can scan without a problem.

@Muskiemoon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are trying to scan from the printer screen. This requires the full-feature printer driver to be installed on the computer.
Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
When you open the HP printer utility, go to Scan > manage Scan to computer > Enable
Now try scanning. Do not use the HP smart app to scan from the printer screen.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@KUMAR0307, Thank you very much for your answer!
I do not try to print from the printer screen, but from HP smart on my computer. This worked just fine until about a week ago. I can scan with "HP LJ200 M276 Scan" from my computer but this program does not allow many options.
Do you have any idea why my printer freezes when I use HP smart from my computer?
Thank you, Muskiemoon 🙂

In your first post, you have mentioned that the issue you are facing is while 'scanning to computer'. Follow the steps mentioned in my previous post to resolve this issue.
'Scan to computer' option is available on the printer control panel.
If the printer freezes, update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, make sure the HP Smart app is updated or you may reinstall it.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Hello Kumar0307
Thank you for the answer. Sorry that my first post wasn't precise enough.
I updated the drivers as described in your first post and updated the firmware but this does not solve the problem.
Please let me describe my problem again: I use the HP Smart app on my computer. When selecting Scan, I get to the next screen to select source, paper size, ect. Then I select scan again. On my computer I get the message "scanner not found", on the display of my printer the message "scanning to computer" is shown for about a minute. But nothing happens.
I can use the printer as printer without a problem. I can also scan on the printer from my iPhone via Smart Hub without a problem.
I hope this made my problem clearer. Do you have any additional ideas?
Thank you.

I understand you are trying to scan from the computer using the HP Smart app. As it is not working, have you tried installing the full-feature printer driver as mentioned in my first post to check if that works?
A full-feature driver is different from the HP Smart app.
Once you install this software, use the HP Utility to scan, not the HP smart app.
Alternatively, check for any pending windows update and reinstall the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
Let me know how it goes.

Dear Kumar0307,
Thank you. I followed all advice from you:
1. Installed full-feature printer driver as mentioned in your first post
2. Updated the printer firmware
3. HP utility scan works
4. Windows is updated
5. Reinstalled HP Smart
The problem with HP Smart still exists. Any ideas?

It looks like an issue with the HP Smart app.
I think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction or a remote session with our HP Support team.
Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
