I placed a full A4 full page photo on the scanner flatbed of my HP wireless 419 printer and pressed the Black Copy button. However, the bottom part of the a4 page—around 1 inch—is consistently cut off and doesn’t print. It seems like the printer is not copying the entire page when using the direct copy function from the printer while pressing any black or color bottom.
Interestingly, when I scan the same A4 page using the HP Smart app or using computer the entire a4 page is scanned correctly without any content being cut off. So, the issue only occurs during direct copying from the printer, not when using software.
Note : i did 5 time printer alignment and cartridge alignment not fix my issue still yet facing same issues

Hi @Archandan
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems like your HP Ink Tank Wireless 419 printer is experiencing an issue with the direct copy function, where the bottom part of an A4 page is consistently cut off.
Since scanning works perfectly via the HP Smart app or computer, this suggests the problem lies specifically with the printer's copy settings or hardware calibration.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check Scanner Glass Alignment
- Ensure the document is placed correctly on the scanner glass.
- Align the document with the edges or markings on the scanner bed.
- Verify that the scanner lid is closed securely to avoid misalignment.
Step 2: Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 2–3 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on to reset the system.
Step 3: Update Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware updates for your printer.
- Restart the printer after updating.
Step 4: Perform a Factory Reset
- Access the printer’s settings menu and look for the Restore Factory Settings option.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer to its default settings.
- Reconfigure the printer and test the copy function again.
Step 5: Test with Different Paper
- Try using a different type or size of paper to rule out compatibility issues.
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and not exceeding the tray’s capacity.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @Archandan
Thank you for letting me know. It seems like the issue might be a more persistent hardware or firmware glitch.
Here are a few advanced troubleshooting suggestions:
Manual Adjustment of Scan Area:
- On some HP printers, you can modify the copy area manually. Check if your HP Ink Tank 419 printer allows you to adjust scan margins or scaling directly from its control panel.
Verify Scanner Alignment:
- Inspect the physical alignment of the scanner head and check for any misplacement. Sometimes, misaligned scanner hardware can cause partial scanning issues.
Test with Different Copy Settings:
- Experiment with different settings like "Fit to Page" or "Borderless Copy" to see if the printer captures the entire A4 page.
Advanced Firmware Reset:
- Perform an advanced firmware reset. This involves accessing hidden maintenance settings on the printer (specific instructions vary by model, and HP Support may need to guide you). A full reset might resolve any deep-seated firmware bugs.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!
