Hi @Foxnbox,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer is saying it's connected and ready, but you're still unable to scan, there might be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Restart Your Devices: Sometimes a simple restart can fix connectivity issues. Try restarting both your printer and your computer or device.
- Check Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. If you're using a wireless connection, make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
- Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can usually find these on the HP website. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause scanning issues.
- Restart Print Spooler Service (Windows): If you're using a Windows computer, you can try restarting the Print Spooler service. Open the Run dialog (Windows key + R), type "services.msc", and hit Enter. In the Services window, find "Print Spooler", right-click it, and select "Restart".
- Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes firewall or antivirus settings can block the communication between your computer and printer. Make sure your firewall or antivirus software isn't blocking the printer's communication.
- Reinstall Printer Software: If none of the above steps work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software on your computer. This can sometimes resolve any software conflicts causing the scanning issue.
Try these steps and hopefully, you'll be able to get your scanner working again!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
