Hello All,
I was hoping to scan the pages of a book on the flatbed scanner of the HP ENVY 6000, but get a "scanner is busy" error message any time that the lid is not completely closed. I of course cannot close the lid completely with a book. Is there a way to work around this?

I had the same issue and finally figured out this solution, but is this really the only way to scan anything thicker than a sheet of paper? Is there a way to disable this sensor button so that magazines/book pages can be scanned? Especially for this current time of working and home schooling, this seems like a major issue. Hacking and fooling the printer shouldn’t be the fix...

The white button (photo attached and circled) near the side has to be pushed down for the scanner to function. Unfortunately the plastic piece on the top lid that presses it down is too short, so only items as thin as a piece of paper allows it to work. The only work around that I could find is find something that permanently depresses that button so the scanner always thinks the lid is closed.
