Hi,
We have a LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw and our document feeder for the scanning functionality does not work. The feeder does not detect paper, when we insert sheets in the feeder.
When we try to scan, it always scans the document from the glass, but not from the feeder, even if we select the feeder in the HP-Smart-software.
Does anyone know what might help?
The machine is almost 10 years old and works just fine in general. Just the document feeder doesn't work anymore. Is there a way to check/repair/clean/trick the detection mechanism/electronics?
Thank you!

There is a sensor at the beginning of the paper path near the separation pad that detects when paper is inserted. It is possible that the sensor is dirty and you might be able to clean it using compressed air. If that does not resolve the issue it may be that you have a failed sensor in which case it would need to be replaced, although these units were not designed for that type of repair and so you will not find official HP documentation on replacing it and would likely need to check You tube for someone who has undertaken that repair.
