Scanning light is constantly flashing. This is a replacement printer. I've followed directions of unconnecting from the wall - waiting and plugging back in. Didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Hello,
Try the below steps..
- While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
- Ensure the scanner lid is closed and not open.
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Now plug in the power cord to back of the printer and other end directly to wall socket ( bypass surge protector or extension )
- Once the printer is in ideal state, Open the Scan lid. Check if the scan carriage is lit and moving across the flat bed or stuck.

I followed your instructions - unplug, wait 30 seconds, etc. When i pick up the lid to my printer - the scanner light is still flashing in the small section of glass at the top of the printer bed. I will then move to the large section of glass and stop flashing. When I close the lid it reverts back to the top section of glass and starts flashing.
Any other suggestions?

Hello,
Thank you for providing the details
It is a normal behaviour. You don't have to worry Unless there is an issue while making a photocopy or scanning.
