I scanned photos to my laptop but they will only save as PDF files. I need to save them as JPEG. I need to know either (1) how to scan directly to jpeg files or (2) how to convert PDF files to JPEG files.

Where do you scan from ? By default, your printer will scan documents as PDF files and Photos as JPG files, Please select Photo when scan, not Document.
Regards.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums. Apologies for jumping in here.
Have you installed the FULL feature software?
If not, check out this resource on how to do that:
HP Envy Photo 7855 | 7155 | 6255 Connect Printer Wirelessly Download & Install Software
These resource show you how to scan:
HP Envy Photo 7800 series printers:Using the ADF & flatbed scan glass to scan & save a PDF
(note that you will see the option for Save as JPEG in the video where you can select to scan photos)
For more scanning tips, click here.
Hope that helps!
