I use HP Smart to edit scan results. The scanner itself has no issues; it seems to be with the HP Smart program:  All scan results disappear entirely when click on edit. 

Typical procedure is I will scan and edit several scans and keep on adding them to a list to save. However, mid-way (say, I may be scanning a dozen items or so) I will click on "Edit" to edit the next scan (crop/enhance) but suddenly, no image will appear in the editing window; it just stays blank.  Further, the whole thing freezes up and will not respond to anything anymore; will not let me Save what's already scanned. So I lose everything, have to close the program and have to start over.  Is this a common issue?
