Hello from France,
It's really a shame !
Two major companies like HP and Apple are not able to provide a operational driver for recent printer/scanner.
Web scanning is now unable to do the job...and i was necessary for me to buy VueScan !
But the most important thing for me is the "scan to computer function"...not yet !
I think my Envy 7640 is my last HP product !
Joyeuses fêtes de fin d'année à tous,

Easy scan is not a solution. It is a bandaid that barely hangs on. Easy Scan is horrible software with very few options, especially for someone who had previouly been using the Mac's built in scanning software. Please provide an actual fix instead of "Install Easy Scan"

Hello from France,
"Does HP even read these forums? It seems to me that they don't give a crap about this issue."
...said axel2078.
I think it is the good question !
So, do they even know how to read ?
Bonne fêtes de fin d'année à tous, et même aux membres du support d'HP !

Since other people had been reporting success after a recent update to MacOS Sierra, I kept trying. But to no avail.
Then I removed my printer, and then added it back in, I now had a SCAN button and I can scan once again.
The downloaded HP Easy Scan Application does not work for me right now. But I am back in business.
Thanks

Whoa!!
I think they have fixed the problem. I just had Sierra reinstalled as a result of other computer problems which included whipping the hard drive clean and starting over.
In any case, I downloded tlhe HP OfficeJet Pro Driver and the Firmware and instlled both. When I went to the HP Utility it allowed me to elect "Scan to Computer" which I clicked and accepted. I also reinstalled the firmeware on the printer.
Scan to Computer now works for me.
I do not know if Apple fixed Sierra or HP fixed their software, but it works now.
I hope everybody else can follow this and finally solve this problem!
