Hi
Mac Mini 2012 10.12.6 Sierra.
Finally got HP envy 5544 to scan.
I think I did it by downloading firmware update from HP
Then doing the 'enable scan to computer' malarkey in the HP utility
Then using apple's own Image Capture - lots of quality options.
Yay

ElricFtang: The point is not buying a new printer but finding a way to use the printer I already have so in my case it is not useful at all to know that Sierra WILL scan with other printers, it seems kind of obvious that it wiould do so with newer printer models.
