My HP smart profile is having issues uploading any scan to my OneDrive Account.
I've been using my HP smart app on my iphone, my printer, and my computer to email scanned documents to my email inbox, and its been working fine.
I recently noticed that HP smart integrates with cloud storage providers (like OneDrive). I set up the shortcut in the app and tried it on my phone, but it didn't work. I checked activity and saw there was a "shortcut error" saying "there was an error while running [shortcut name]. Tap the items below for details". The details display "Share Error" saying "There was a problem running your shortcut. Please try again later".
I get the same error running this shortcut on my printer, my computer, and my iphone.
Is there any troubleshooting for this issue?

Hi @smohara,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Shortcut Error" and "Share Error" when trying to upload scanned documents to OneDrive via the HP Smart app can be frustrating. Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Verify OneDrive Integration in HP Smart App
On iPhone:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Go to the Shortcuts tab.
- Tap the shortcut you created for OneDrive.
- Re-authenticate your OneDrive account by logging in again.
- Ensure the correct folder in OneDrive is selected for uploading scans.
On Computer:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Navigate to Shortcuts.
- Verify your OneDrive account connection under the shortcut settings.
Update the HP Smart App
- Ensure the HP Smart app is updated to the latest version on all devices:
- On iPhone, check the App Store for updates.
- On your computer, download the latest version from the HP Smart website.
Check OneDrive Permissions
- Confirm that HP Smart has the necessary permissions in your OneDrive account:
- Log into your Microsoft Account Permissions.
- Check if HP Smart has access. If not, reauthorize the app.
Check Network Connectivity
- Ensure all devices (printer, iPhone, computer) are connected to a stable internet connection.
- Avoid using VPNs or firewalls that may block the connection between HP Smart and OneDrive.
Test a Manual Upload
- Use the HP Smart app to scan a document and manually save/upload it to OneDrive without using the shortcut. This helps confirm if the issue is with the shortcut or the integration itself.

Recreate the Shortcut
- Delete the existing shortcut and recreate it:
- Go to Shortcuts in the HP Smart app.
- Delete the OneDrive upload shortcut.
- Recreate the shortcut with the same or a different name.
Clear App Cache/Data
- Clear the HP Smart app's cache on your devices:
- On iPhone:
- Uninstall and reinstall the app.
- Log back in and set up the shortcut again.
- On Windows/Mac:
- Sign out of the app, clear temporary files, and sign back in.
- On iPhone:
Check for Printer Firmware Updates
- If using the shortcut directly on the printer, update its firmware:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Go to your printer settings and check for firmware updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I’m still having the same issue with the app.
I removed the permissions in my Microsoft privacy settings.
I deleted the shortcut.
I deleted the app.
I reinstalled the app.
I recreated the shortcut, allowing me to resign into my OneDrive.
I ran a through this process a few times. Each time the same error occurred.
