I get 3 small magenta streaks (less than 1 inch each) on every scan I do from the flatbed glass. If I scan from the document feeder, this doesn't happen. I've thoroughly cleaned the glass more than once and performed all printer maintenance procedures to no avail. I've had this printer less than 1 year, and my last HP OfficeJet did the exact same thing (also magenta)! It doesn't matter what I scan, they all end up with pink spots in the same place. Please help!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. As you've performed relevant troubleshooting steps and the flatbed issue persists.
I would suggest once again let's clean the scanner glass and underside of the scanner lid with a soft, lint-free cloth sprayed with glass cleaner.
-
Turn the printer off, then disconnect the power cord. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)
-
Lift the scanner lid.
-
Spray a soft, lint-free cloth with glass cleaner, then wipe the scanner glass, glass strip (if present), the white backing under the scanner lid, and the white strip under the lid (if present) until clean, dry, and streak-free.
CAUTION: To protect the interior printer parts, do not spray the cleaner directly on the glass or on the underside of the lid.
-
White scanner lid backing
-
White ADF scanner lid strip (if present)
-
Glass ADF scanner strip (if present)
-
Main scanner glass
-
-
Reconnect the power cord, turn on the printer, then close the scanner lid completely.
-
Load the original document or photo, then try to scan. Make sure the original document or photo is in good condition and free of tears, creases, folds, staples, or tape. If the issue persists, contact our HP support: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I feel like an idiot! I've cleaned EVERYTHING (or so I thought!) multiple times, but the pink smears remained. This time I tried using a DRY Windex cleaning cloth (hard to find now; brought some home from my mother's home), and it worked like a charm! This is the first time I've posted anything, and with such an easy remedy, I feel a bit embarrassed! THANK YOU just the same!
