So, it has fallen to me to begin the daunting process of digitizing the files in a small private healthcare practice office. That means that there are potentially expensive mistakes to be made if very specific requirements aren't followed with client data.
If I'm using a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fnw printer/scanner alongside the HP Smart application on my computer, where all does that data go in between the scanner and my computer? Basically, is it leaving our internal network to be temporarily stored in a cloud service somewhere before it comes back down to my machine, or is it just bouncing around internally?
If it's going somewhere else, is there a way I can make it... not?

Hello Craigmnd,
Scanning is done locally: no cloud middle storage, no consultation to some server in the outside etc.
Keep in mind you can use other apps for scanning like HP Scan and Capture, HP Scan, even Windows and MAC have scanner apps. You can even set scan to network folder or if you don't want to deal with computers, networking, emails or anything like that, you can digitize your documents and store them in a thumb drive located below the printer's touchscreen.
