I have a HP Smart Tank 7005 Printer,  in the past week the Scan Icon has disappeared from the HP Smart App and now I have a Printer/Scan app which isn't as easy to use, has this replaced the Scan Icon?

I understand that the scan option has disappeared in the HP Smart app, I am glad to assist you.

Uninstall and Reinstall the HP Smart app to fix this issue

I have the same problem but with an HP ENVY Inspire 7900 on MacOS Ventura 13.4.1, there only is an icon for "Printer Scan" that only does an on glass scan. There is no longer an option to scan via the document feeder.

 

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, it made no changes.

 

I am currently scanning documents using the standard PrinterScanner Settings of my computer, which doesn't allow you to make adjustments to the doc before saving but in a pinch still works fine:

1. Open 'PrinterScanner Settings' e.g. by searching for "printerscanner" in Spotlight Search (to open Spotlight Search use the command key + space)

2. select your printer in the settings menu

3. in the pop up click the 'Open Scanner' button
