I was scanning some documents on my Photosmart plus B210 using HP Smart (I used to use the printer driver software but apparently this is no longer possible) but had to unplug the printer so my son could use the power socket. When I plugged the printer back in and tried to continue scanning I go the message "This feature is not supported by the selected printer. Connect to a different printer to use this feature." Is there any way to get the printer to scan or shoud I trash it and buy a Canon Pixma? I'm kind of fed up with HP hardware not working.

Hi @leopold1904,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there may have been a disruption in the connection or communication between your computer and the printer when you unplugged it. Before considering trashing the printer and buying a new one, let's try some troubleshooting steps.
- Restart both the printer and your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve communication issues.
- Check the connections: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or connected to the same network if it's a wireless printer.
- Update printer drivers and software: Even if you're using HP Smart, make sure you have the latest version installed. Sometimes outdated software can cause compatibility issues.
- Reset the printer: Most printers have a reset option in their settings menu. Resetting the printer can sometimes resolve software glitches.
- Reinstall HP Smart: If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart software on your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
