Hi there, I currently have a HP Envy 5020 printer and scanner. I also have HP Envy 5000 Series software and HP Scan that was installed in December 2017.
I am struggling with scanning a document in DPI 600 greyscale. There is no option in the software to change the DPI setting only the resolution to PPI which is not the same thing. I have tried scanning in grey with PPI 600 resolution but need the document which is a single piece of paper to be under 1MB in size. With these settings I cannot get under 2.5MB even if I save as a PDF or JPEG. I need thesesettings for an online application otherwise I cannot upload the file.
There is no settings to choose flat bed or anything else only colour mode and PPI. Please can you point me in the right direction as to where the settings I require are. I appreciate anybody's comments and help. Looking forward to haring from you.
Thanks
Irfy

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Can you check out this reosurce on how to get a smaller PDF filesize?
Do ensure that the FULLfeature software is installed.
If that is needed, check out these resources on how to download and install the FULL feature software:
HP Officejet 5230 Download and install software
HP Envy Photo 7855 : Scan a document to PDF with a small file size
Note: with the iHQC (smaller file size), using 600dpi would not matter as the filesize would be small. So no need to worry about PPI or DPI, it's just how high the resolution is.
For more scanning tips, click here.
Hope that helps!
