My laptop stopped talking to the scanner portion of my Officejet Pro 8725 and Scan Doctor showed that there was a driver issue. I ended up removing my printer and software and reinstalled them. My HP printer Assistant still could not talk to the scanner even though HP Smart and Windows both could. I ran Scan Dr again and it restored, but I only have the option to save TIF at 300 or less dpi. 1200 dpi was available before and my husbands PC has 1200 available using the same HP Printer Assist app. I need to be able to save my scans as .tif at 12 dpi.

Resoved: I found that the limit was because the scanner needed to be in flatbed mode for 1200 dpi. I was set for document feed.
