We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

It looks like there is a problem with the Digital Imaging Monitor installed on your computer.  I believe that a full scrub will be needed to clear up the problem.  Who is the manufacturer of your computer?  I'll need to know to get you the right steps.

Thanks for your interest.

My computer is a Hewlett Packard laptop, model EliteBook 8540w.

Same problem with a desktop Packard Bell, model ZEU-PE2.

Below are the scrubber steps.  If those don't work, create a new user account with admin privilages and install the printer there to see if it will overwrite the corupted components with good ones.  If that doesn't work, install the printer on another computer to see if it has the same problem.  Let me know what happens.

1. Run disk cleanup on your computer

2. Download and run the software and drivers below.

3. Once the download is done extracting, cancel the download.

4. Click the start menu.

5. Click Run.

6. Type %temp% in the run field

7. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

8. Open folder Util

9. Open folder CCC

10. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers.  For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat

11. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

12. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

13. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

14. Use this tool to clean the system and registry.  Note: This utility is not HP sponsored or approved.  HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused by the utility.  This step is optional.   You can skip it if you want.

I have followed the 16 scrubber steps and they didn't work.

I have created a new user account with admin privileges and I have tried to install the printer. But the printer is already installed (and I have the same problem scanning as with the usual user) and the install program does not allow to reinstall it overwitting the previous installation. Should I first uninstall the printer? ( I do not know whether this is important or not, but I should explain that the printer is connected by means of an Ethernet LAN.)

Installing printer

Delete the new user account you created first.  Once you have that done, uninstall the printer and software from the computer.  Then create a new user account and try installing the printer on that account.  If it's still not working after this try, then see if the printer will install and work with another PC.  It can be any PC, since once you see wether it works or not you will not need the printer on that computer anymore.   If the printer works with another PC, there is something in your system preventing the install from working, and you will need to format and reinstall the OS.  Let me know what happens.

Thanks for your help.

1. I have deleted the user account I had creater and I have unistalled the printer and software. I have created a new user an I have installed the printer from this user. I have the same problems as before. I have seen that I have the problem (now as before) when I scan from the HP Solution Center. When I scan from Adobe Acrobat I have the problem (now as before) when in the menu Options I select: "Show scanner's Native Interface". If I select "Hide Scanner’s Native Interface", I can scan several pages without any problem, but in this case I cannot change the resolution, the area to scan, I cannot preview, etc.

2. I have installed the same driver in another computer with Windows 7 32-bit and I have exactly the same problems.

3. I have installed the appropriate driver and software in a computer with Windows XP 32-bits and everything works fine, no problems.

What do you think I should do? It seems to me that the problem is the Windows 7 drivers. Do other users do not have this same problem?

I'm not aware of any other users with this problem.  I'm going to do some research on this and see what I can find.  I'll get back to you as soon as I have something.

I know this is an old thread, but I've tried everything suggested and was wondering if anyone had a solution for why this install works on my XP laptop, AND worked on my Windows 7 Home Premium before I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional... but fails to work since the upgrade.  Prints fine, fax works, copy works, SCAN does not work.  I've doen L4 uninstalls, Used the Install wizard, used the Print/scan doctor,  Clean boot,  turnd=ed everything using the wireless off (laptops, desktops, kindle, phones, extender, etc.)  I even did a clean install with all those turned off.

Again... XP scans, WIN7Pro doesn't.  BTW, the webscan works.

I have done all that can be done to solve this problem with the OfficeJet 7310 All-in-One conected to a Ethernet network, and could not solve it (Scan Doctor, uninstalling and installing the program many times after terminating resident programs, deleting temporary files, etc. I have lost many hours without any success.

The only way I found to be able to scan multiple pages without having to close and open again the OfficeJet 7310 is to connect it with an USB cable (new installation).
