HP Envy 7800
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Envy 7800 all in one printer.  I can scan one document at a time but I can't manage to scan using the document feeder.  Does anyone know how to resolve this?

The document feeder does work (it registers when a document is loaded and it can photocopy okay via the feeder), but for some reason it won't pull the paper through to scan.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system (if you have not done so):

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

In order to scan using the document feeder, you need to ensure that the "Source" is set to "Use document feeder if loaded" (Example shown below):

Scan Extended using ADF HP OJP 6960 series.jpg

Hope that helps.

I saw an online answer on how to change the settings to scan from document feeder, and selected the "Source - Document Feeder - if loaded" Option, and it does work, however it only works when I open the APP on the laptop and scan from there.  It does not allow me to load the documents in the feeder and scan directly from printer, so I have to take the extra step each time to open the app - I used to be able to load the document feeder, hit scan to computer, and it would automatically scan.  It now just rings to acknowledge the document feeder is loaded, but it does not feed the papers, and I get a blank scan.  It only scans from the glass and does not take the papers.
